What is Back Pain?

Back pain is a condition where the area between the neck and lower back is painful. This area includes the back of the ribs, the shoulder blades and the area between the shoulder blades, and the thoracic vertebrae, which are the vertebrae in the back.

Back Pain

Why Does Back Pain Occur?

Back pain is usually muscle-related pain.

Muscle strain and muscle spasms can cause back pain. Herniated discs between the vertebrae in the back can cause back pain. In addition, infections of the vertebral bones in the back region, calcification between the vertebrae, and fractures in the vertebral bones can cause back pain. Some rare conditions in internal organs can also cause back pain. For example, kidney stone pain can radiate to the back. Aortic dissection pain is felt in the back.

How to Relieve Back Pain?

Back pain is treated according to its cause. Since the cause is usually muscle-related, rest, warm compresses, and the use of pain relievers and muscle relaxants can relieve back pain.

If problems in internal organs are causing back pain, treating the internal disease will relieve the back pain.

What Helps with Back Pain?

If the source of back pain is muscles, rest, massage, and warm compresses can help relieve back pain. Along with these, pain relievers, muscle relaxant creams, and oral medications can also help with back pain. These methods may not be completely effective for back pain caused by reasons other than muscle pain.
